Like its counterpart, the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary considers and reports to the full Senate on legislation affecting the federal judiciary. The Committee is also responsible for holding hearings on federal judicial nominees and reporting to the full Senate to advise in favor of or against confirmation.
