Our family and I got really sick with the flu. 5 days into it we saw a video on TikTok where this lady talked about "Air Backwash". Essentially we are breathing the same air as everyone in the household hence why usually one gets sick everyone will breathe in that bacteria. If you haven't seen it you should look it up.

She recommended that we leave the windows cracked even if its cold outside. We live in El Paso, TX, desert environment and we have really bad allergies and we also have a small dog. I decided to go ahead and buy this WINIX air purifier.

So far we are feeling the difference. For us it took us a few days to really begin to notice the difference. Since we bought it we haven't had any issues with our allergies or gotten sick. We had a dust storm for 3 days straight. In the past it was so dusty that you could smell the dirt inside.

This dust storm we did not have that issue. We have it on all the time. I set it on high and it sounds like a small fan is on, nothing major. I have a two story home. We have the Winix down stairs. Our downstairs setup is the kitchen and my wife's office are connected to the living room. It does well but I still have a smaller air purifier (from Amazon, sorry Walmart) in her office just to make sure in my wife's office has really good coverage, again because of our allergies. Staying on the safe side.

My son burned popcorn the other day and the smell went away slightly quicker with the Winix than when we didn't have it. When we aren't home I'll place the Winix upstairs and it covers my upstairs very well. The Main bedroom along with the two of our kids home really cleans up the air. My upstairs is about half the size of my downstairs and I have three smaller air purifiers (From Amazon, again, sorry Walmart). With that being said, I turned off the three smaller ones upstairs and placed the Winix upstairs on high setting to see if it worked on its own covering what three air purifiers cover all together. I placed it in the hallway and it did the job slightly better because it covered our family restroom as well. So it did better than 3 smaller air purifiers do. Each air purifier covers about 500 sq. feet each.

Lets talk about the price. $158.00 is what it cost me. I did not want to pay that much however after doing some research on the Winix, I read all the reviews on each stores website it was available at and for the most part the Winix is reviewed very well so I decided to buy it. Walmart had it available same day and it was $15 cheaper than other stores.

You get 3 filters all together. I did the math and one of the smaller air purifiers I bought were $35 each with one filter. Extra filters cost anywhere from $12 - $22 and that's for one. I bought 4 purifiers for each bedroom and my wife's office. I paid roughly $140 for all four with only one filter each. I could have just bought one for the hallway and know that it will do better than those 4. I would buy it again. I hope this helps! - Oscar

My daughter in law bought a “different” brand air purifier from walmart in store about 4 weeks ago. She has 2 cats m, and I am allergic. Every time i went to visit i would sneeze, throat start itching, wheezing, eyes would swell and itch, and out comes the inhaler and allergy meds.
After buying the “different ” brand air purifier and using it in her house for about a week, there is NO hint of cats at all! So i went to buy the same air purifier, of course it’s out of stock. She paid %2679 for the one i could not get.
So i come across this one, cleaned up to twice the amount of space as hers, and double the price. I figured it has to be as good.
WRONG. I keep my house super clean, but i do have two Golden Doodles inside. I feel like sometimes my house just doesn’t smell as clean as i would like. This air purifier didn’t make one bit of difference in the way the air smelled. I did verify the square footage was correct for my home, In fact i bought 2! They are both going back. Disappointed!

This is my first air purifier and I am impressed with how well it works. I got it to knock down some of the pet dander and whatever other allergens were floating around my house. The first thing I noticed was reduction in odors. I have a dog and several cats. Cat box smells are gone, the dog sheds constantly and I am not experiencing any of my usual allergy symptoms, so I call that a win. My home is just under 1,500 square feet and this little machine is doing a great job! It was easy to put the filters in and a once weekly vacuum of the one in front does the trick. It’s easy to operate, runs quietly and I am very pleased with this purchase. Extra filters are a bonus!

I know other reviews are angry over not having 2 years of filter, but im not. I didnt read in the discrption 8 filters although it does say 2 years worth. Mine came with a pack of two extra filters, plus one already in the machine, so 3 black ( carbon i think ?) filters which to me is awesome! That (according to others) if changed every 3 months as recommended is 9 months which is fine by me . yes, two years would be better, but im not mad over it..Most of the time you dont get any extra filters, so im happy with the two..I read another review saying something about a remote holder or something, which if that is true, i didnt get a remote holder, but i really dont need it. I picked this machine because it was affordable and i have bad allergies/ sinus issues. The main thing ( only really) i care about is the machine irs self and it working. Its helping me, so thats all i can really ask for. I absolutely love it!!!!! After about 2-3 hours i could breathe out of my nose again. I havent been able to breathe out of my nose for at least the last year ( in my House).. Partially because of my cat aside from other allergens.. Also someone said the light wasnt working on theirs, another said it was blue from the start, mine is working fine. It started off red and after about 30 min or so it turned yellow/ orange ( cant remember) , and then after about another 30 mins it turned blue. After opening the door or turning ac on it goes yellow/ orange again before back to blue. This is a cool feature ( i guess), but i didnt know it came with that feature until i looked up the red light on google . It also has really nothing to do with the machine cleaning the air. If my lights quit working i wouldnt care as long as the purifier worked. Its nice to see a light and know it is bad/ good air, but not essential. I'd say if your light doesnt work and its still cleaning the air who cares. Did u get it for a light, or to clean your air? Maybe im strange, but i dont get the angry ppl over minor details. This machine is a good size ( bigger) with a lot for a decent price. I see really small purifiers for this price ($ 150).
