such an amazing titanic
Raynestorm· Review provided by LEGO · August 21, 2024
I finally pulled the trigger on this LEGO set despite the price. (i lucked out, a day before i bought it, it was on backorder, the day i bought it, it was available, the day after backorder (so if you're on the fence, or discouraged by backorder, keep checking). It was so amazing despite the price. As a kid i played with LEGO bricks, but just random loose bricks. This was my first experience with a LEGO set. I'm a HUGE titanic enthusiast, have multiple models, and had been on the fence for so long on this (due to the price), but between hearing they were going to discontinue it, and really being a titanic enthusiast i finally pulled the trigger on it, and could be no happier than i did. This was my first LEGO kit, and i had SUCH a blast building it. I only have ONE complaint, and that is the rigging on the fourth funnel, WAY too loose. It was a little better when you raised the piece it was attached to (which i don't think was supposed to be required, and the first funnel which was attached to the aft deck the same way didn't have this issue), but still, shouldn't have been so loose, for $700 bucks i expect it all to be perfect. (all of the other rigging was fine). If they fix that too long issue, this would be 100% perfect. I do HIGHLY recommend it though. I am providing, in what i hope is the correct order, two views of the first funnel rigging (no issues) and the loose fourth funnel rigging, followed by the slightly better loose fourth funnel rigging by making an adjustment that i don't think was intended.
Worth every penny

The set comes with 3 internal boxes which are contain two sections of the build per box; six sections total.

My two older children each built two sections, my husband wanted to build the fifth section because it had the engine. He's retired navy. We all watched/worked on the final section.

It was an incredible building experience.

The layers are creative, the locks are genius, and the satisfaction felt snapping** on the haul (sides) is next level!

It fits on the mantle above our fireplace. We plan to frame a poster of the schematics of Titanic that we got from the Titanic museum in Orlando, FL. Also, my husband is thinking of doing a Lego Mosaic of an iceberg to put on the wall off to the side.

Overall, this was amazing. It took about 24 total hours due to builder error, and was worth every minute of quality time and pride felt once we all saw it completed.

It took a while to justify the price, but honestly, it's no different than buying three $200, or six $100 sets which is a typical birthday or Christmas present in our family. Aka, mom's done buying for the year!

Last, I pulled the engine out to put on display. We also bought off-brand lights to jazz it up even more.
The most impressive LEGO set ever
Lianne· Review provided by LEGO · August 13, 2024
This LEGO set cost as much as one month of rent for me. It's ridiculously expensive. No amount of plastic bricks should ever cost this much. I should feel bad about "wasting money" on this. I should regret buying it.
But I don't. I LOVE it.

DISPLAY VALUE 5/5: The LEGO Titanic is a sight to behold. You don't fully understand how big and impressive this set is, until she's sailing in your living room. From across the room, it doesn't even look like a LEGO set, it looks like a ship model. I've given a very low rating for "play experience" because it's not to be played with, it's to be admired. I'd get very very nervous if a kid would come near it thinking it's a toy.

And a nice touch that she is in scale with the LEGO Statue of Liberty. I have them displayed together in a sort of alternate reality where she made it safely to her destination... in my living room.

BUILD EXPERIENCE 5/5: The ingenuity that went into making this mini Titanic a reality is astounding. So many clever building techniques to get the right angles and to add details to the ship. With the way the build is set up in sections, the process of putting her together avoids becoming repetitive. It was a joy to build from bow to stern.

NEGATIVE: I appreciate that they added interior details in the cross sections of the 3 parts; I'm sure people will enjoy this surprise on the inside. For me that was one "negative". Although the ship separates easily into it's 3 sections, I don't see myself dismantling her often (or at all) to look at the interior microscale details. It wasn't a very interesting/inspiring part of the building experience either; just placing lots of tiles. If leaving out these interior details would have shaved a little off the overall price, that would have had my preference.

Still though, can't rate it any less than five stars.
The Centerpiece of My Collection
Michael· Review provided by LEGO · December 11, 2024
This incredible set was an absolute must have for me. The only hesitation I had in purchasing it was being sure I had the room to display it properly first. It's been over a year since I added this set to my collection and it still is without a doubt, the centerpiece of it all. To me, Lego got everything right with this; it truly is a spectacular set. Yes, it is not inexpensive, but IMO it was worth every penny when you consider the built in features and functions along with the incredible details. You can see the time and care the designers put into developing this set that pays tribute to the memory of the actual ship. Yes, the build is long and can feel like an odyssey if you're doing it alone, but it also was a lot of fun and very rewarding to see it take shape. If you have the space, the time and means to purchase this set, I would definitely recommend getting it. Lego hit this one out of the park.
