With the Force 58 Skate Shoe, Nike has built a classic skate shoe that pays homage stylistically to the brand's basketball heritage. When I first saw the shoe in the box, I thought "these are Air Force Ones." This was because of the immediately recognizable pattern of ventilation holes on the toe vamp and familiar the location of the large "Swoosh" on the side panel. But it quickly became apparent that the Force 58s are their own thing - not just Air Force One skate shoes.

Putting the shoes on was what convinced me these are true skate shoes. I've owned many pairs of size 9 Nikes, and I have the same amount of room in the toe box of these as past pairs. The difference is how snug the shoe's padding makes the fit. That's natural for a skate shoe, of course, since the shoes are your feet's only protection when skimming across pavement or clearing a flight of stairs. Likewise, the ample cushioning provided by the foam sole is immediately evident. Put these together, and your feet feel safe if a bit stuffy.

Given the shoe's classic look, it would be difficult to guess exactly when the shoe was released. 2021 or 2006 would be equally likely. This will make the Force 58s an attractive option to people whose wardrobe includes other classics Nikes from the 80s and early 90s. Folks who enjoy more fashion-forward options, or shoes with more technologically advanced materials will look elsewhere. Because they recall well-known shoes like Air Force Ones visually, any deviation from the Air Force One formula will stick out. With that in mind, I'm unsure what I think about the small red swooshes accenting the toe vamps - are they attractive or garish? I cannot decide.

There have been multiple days where I have worn these shoes for five or six hours without taking them off. My feet have felt safe and comfortable while walking and just sitting at my desk during the workday. They are a bit hot, depending on the socks I've worn with them, but I think you can have a protective skate shoe or a shoe that's super-breathable - I don't think you can have both. I was dealing with some painful Achilles tendinitis when I began wearing these shoes and quickly found them to be a much better option than most other shoes I have because of how stable my heel felt in them.

I like these shoes - I've worn them very frequently over the last two weeks. I think I prefer their comfort to their appearance, but truly I think that my feelings would quickly change if the color scheme were more "me."

Nikes best attempt yet for a skateboarding shoe that's not only functional but also looks amazing! I would just skate in OG Jordan 1 lows and Dunks, these are an updated version of them, with sole of ishod or nyjahs! Highly recommend. Get your size. Seller was fast and easy to deal with! Very stylish shoe. However, I would go up one full size, especially if you have wide feet. You will feel pressure at the outter toe knuckle of the big toe. (near the toe box area.) I will be exchanging these for a larger size. I really want these to be added to my shoe collection but not at the sake of discomfort. Besides that good choice!

Love these! They fit snug at first but will stretch. Love the fat tongue (pause, lol) and the style looks clean. Immediately copped the blue joints too-bummed that the green ones were sold out. Perfect for walking if you don’t skate. Not for rainy days as they’re suede. But I really like these.Hope they restock the green ones. I’d recommend these all day for an every non-rainy day shoe-and best part? The price is great-compared to other styles. Cool shoes!!!
