Product Changed for the worse
Lily· Review provided by samsclub.com · November 24, 2024
Have been buying these for years and have always recommended them to others. Had a fairly good stock pile so I have not purchased any for myself since December 2022. Recently purchased and discovered the product has changed, and not for the better. It was immediately obvious they are thinner and rougher. Also very frustrating /difficult to tear and more often than not you do not get a "select a size" but rather a full sheet (which if I wanted full sheets I would buy full sheet). I'd be embarrassed to recommend them now. Not sure if I will purchase again, maybe will in hopes that based on reviews they will change back to a better product. I am a huge Sam's supporter, but this product is no longer a winner...very disappointed
'Lifelong' Bounty User: Very Pleasantly Surprised
Stephen· Review provided by samsclub.com · December 26, 2023
Well, I wasn't expecting much. But as a 'lifelong' Bounty user, I had been very disappointed by whatever change Bounty made in the last year or so to degrade what was a fine product. No longer could you use the towel more than once - once it got wet. It simply falls apart and becomes useless. But to me that is an essential quality for a paper towel: if I use it simply to get some water off a counter, etc. - I do not just "throw it out." Leave it out for a little while until the water evaporates and use it again. But no longer after Bounty made changes to cheapen the product.

Enter the Sam's Club paper towel: 50% more towels at two'thirds the price? Hmm... I bit. And so far, I am pleased. Yes, the individual "Select-a-size" towels are lighter in weight (you can work this out simply by weight a roll of Bounty and dividing by the number of towels in that roll - and then do the same for the Sam's Club towels). Yet in spite of that, they seem almost as absorbent and - very importantly (to me, anyway) - they DO NOT seem to separate, shred, and fall apart instantly upon becoming wet for the first time.

So far so good: I shall continue evaluating and, very likely, these towels have won a new convert as far as I am concerned.
Declined Quality

I used to appreciate the quality of these paper towels. These paper towels are extremely thin, almost like tissue or a slight step above 1-ply toilet paper and the same level a dollar store brand paper towels. They used to be both absorbent and strong, and I could use one sheet to thoroughly dry my hands. Unfortunately, those days are over. Once the sheet touches my hand, the entire sheet seems to instantly become full of water. Meanwhile, my hands are not completely dry. If I have to use 2 sheets to dry my hands, I might as well pay the few extra dollars for the better quality paper towels. There is no longer a comparison between the two...very disappointing.
They changed
Real User· Review provided by samsclub.com · March 23, 2024
I wanted to write this review because I hope that Sam's will read this. I've used these paper towels for years, preferring them over Bounty and other leading brands. With my recent purchase though it was evident that a change had occurred. It wasn't a good change and I'm not very happy. They're no longer thick or as absorbent. I use a lot of paper towels and I now have to decide whether it really is cost effective to continue using this product if I have to use twice as many. I'm very disappointed. These are now more similar to the thin, scratchy hard cheaper brands than Bounty. I really don't believe I will purchase them again.
